Aerobic Gymnastics is a high energy floor based discipline which will demonstrate various sport-specific skills, acrobatic elements and dance & basics steps.
Gymnasts will learn leaps and jumps working to demonstrate excellent rebound alongside the traditional aerobic basics steps. A distinctive part of the discipline, which separates it from all the rest, is the explosive and static strength with the use of traditional gymnastics levers and body conditioning to then work on explosive style push ups, progressing to turning the skills which are sure to impress! With the flexibility elements, all put together, this makes an aerobic gymnastics routine which all participants will learn and have the opportunity to work towards the British Gymnastics IAC programme.
Incorporated in our programme, gymnasts will learn traditional gymnastics floor basics from rolling and walkovers to flicks and aerials. We will progress each individual at their own pace and ensure our more advanced members are challenged.
Our classes encourages rhythm, good coordination, discipline and most importantly having fun! Gymnasts complete routines in groups of up to 5 gymnasts, to music, where all the various elements learnt throughout a term will be demonstrated.
This class is great for those wanting to work particularly on flexibility and floor basics as well as growing in confidence, performing to our British Gymnastics affiliated coaches.
This class is the entry level to our IAC programme (invitation only) which allows keen participants to compete at the base level of Aerobic Gymnastics. If you’re interested in this, we recommend signing your child up for one of our AeroGym sessions to see if this is something we can offer to you
