Our Story

Built on a love of gymnastics

Basingstoke Gymnastics Club has been at the heart of gymnastics in North Hampshire for over 30 years. What started as a small local club with a big vision has grown into one of the region's leading gymnastics clubs, with over 1,500 members and more than 100 classes a week.

From the very beginning our focus has been the same: to give every person who walks through our doors (whatever their age, ability, or background) a safe, high-quality, and genuinely enjoyable gymnastics experience.

Today we offer 8 disciplines across preschool, recreational, competitive, and inclusive programmes, with a team of dedicated coaches who are as passionate about developing people as they are about developing gymnasts.

Mission & Values

What drives everything we do

To create positive learning environments that build and support active, diverse communities in fulfilling every member's maximum potential.

Community

We're a club built on relationships, between gymnasts, families, coaches, and staff. Everyone who joins BGC becomes part of something bigger than just a class.

Passion

We love gymnastics and that passion shapes everything we do, from a toddler's first roll to a gymnast stepping onto the competition floor at a national event.

Opportunity

Every member gets a fair chance to discover how far they can go. We open doors, through Talent ID, inclusive sessions, and a genuine belief that gymnastics is for everyone.

Excellence

We hold ourselves to the highest standards in coaching quality, safeguarding, welfare, and the overall experience we provide, at every level of the club.

Fun

Gymnastics should be enjoyable above everything else. We never lose sight of that, whether it's a toddler's first lesson or a senior gymnast's most challenging training session.

Safeguarding & Welfare

Your child's safety is our priority

Basingstoke Gymnastics Club is committed to creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for every member. We follow British Gymnastics' safeguarding and welfare policies in full, and hold ourselves to the highest standards of child protection practice.

Every coach and volunteer at BGC holds a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and completes regular safeguarding training. Our dedicated Club Welfare Officer is the first point of contact for any concerns relating to the welfare of a member.

We are committed to the principles of the British Gymnastics Safe Sport Framework and to a culture where everyone (gymnasts, parents, and staff alike) can raise a concern and be heard.
