What is it?
Your chance to see the progress
The Recreational Display takes place once per term across all of our recreational classes. It's a simple but special occasion; families are invited into the gym during normal class time to watch their gymnast perform a short group routine with their class.
This isn't a competition or a graded performance. It's a celebration of what your child has been working on throughout the term; the skills they've built, the confidence they've developed, and the progress they've made. It's relaxed, warm, and genuinely lovely to be part of.
Children absolutely love having their families there, and parents often say it's one of their favourite moments of the gymnastics year, a proper window into their child's world at BGC.
Display dates are published on the club calendar at the start of each term. You'll also receive a reminder through your normal class communications.

How it works
What happens on display day
Everything you need to know so you can be there and enjoy every moment.
01
Normal class time
The display takes place during your gymnast's regular class slot; no separate session to book, no special kit required. Just arrive at your usual class time.
02
Families come in
Instead of waiting outside, families are invited into the gym to watch. Coaches will set the scene and then let the class take the floor. It's relaxed, warm, and not at all pressured.
03
Gymnasts perform
The class performs a short group routine, showing off the skills they've been working on throughout the term. Nothing rehearsed to perfection, just a genuine snapshot of their progress and confidence.
Why it matters
More than just a show
The Recreational Display is a small event with a big impact; here's why it's one of the moments parents treasure most.
Children love it
Having mum, dad, or grandparents watching in the gym is genuinely special for young gymnasts. Coaches consistently see improved performance and beaming confidence on display days.
A window into class life
Most parents never see inside the gym during normal sessions. The Rec Display gives you a real picture of what your child does each week; the skills, the structure, and the fun.
Building performance confidence
For children who may one day compete, or simply for those who want to feel proud, performing in front of an audience is a valuable experience. The Rec Display is the perfect low-pressure introduction.
