About the discipline
Maximum power.
Minimum margin.
Power Tumbling is performed on a 25-metre sprung tumbling track, with gymnasts executing a series of up to eight somersaults and twists in a single pass. It demands explosive power, body control, and split-second spatial awareness.
BGC's Tumbling squads train on our dedicated tumbling track and compete under British Gymnastics at regional and national championship level. Our Head of Tumbling oversees all competitive squad development within the club's Elite Pathway.
New tumblers and their families should read the Tumbling welcome pack first; it covers training hours, competitions, kit, and how the club communicates through a season. Tumbling sessions are listed on the class timetable, and the squad's competition results are further down the page.
Power Tumbling is one of five squad programmes at BGC, with Women's Artistic, Men's Artistic, TeamGym, and Gymnastics Aerobics making up the rest; the Elite Squads page covers all of them. Most tumblers start in recreational tumbling and move up through Advanced Tumble in our Advanced competitive programme.
