TeamGym · Competitive

Where teamwork meets gymnastics excellence. BGC's TeamGym squads compete across three streams, combining skill, synchronisation, and shared ambition, including international championship level.

About the discipline

Four streams.
One team.

Floor Trampette Vault Trampette Tumble

TeamGym is a team discipline performed across three streams: floor, trampette, and tumbling track. Teams of 6 to 12 gymnasts compete together, with marks awarded for both individual skills and synchronised group elements.

It's one of the most social and dynamic disciplines in the sport, developing exceptional teamwork alongside gymnastics ability. BGC's TeamGym squads train together and compete as a unit at regional and national championship level.

Junior teams typically have 6–10 gymnasts; senior teams 6–14. Teams are mixed or single-gender depending on the age category and competition format.

The TeamGym welcome pack is the place for a new team member to start: training commitment, the competition calendar, kit, and the WhatsApp groups that carry most of the week to week detail. Training times are on the class timetable, and past team results are further down the page.

TeamGym is one of five squad programmes here, alongside Women's Artistic, Men's Artistic, Power Tumbling, and Gymnastics Aerobics, all of which are set out on the Elite Squads page. Gymnasts usually come into TeamGym from Advanced TeamGym in our Advanced competitive programme, or across from another discipline.

Floor

Synchronized team display routines on the floor, combining tumbling, acrobatics, and choreography. Emphasis on precision, artistry, and team coordination.

Tumble

Three consecutive tumbling passes down the sprung track, each more advanced than the last, judged on consistency and difficulty.

Trampette Vault

Similar to trampette, three consecutive vault entries from the trampette, showcasing explosive power and aerial flight on vault

Trampette

Three consecutive Trampette runs, building from somersaults through to twisting elements. Power, control, and shape under pressure.

Conditioning & Flexibility

Conditioning is fundamental to performing advanced competitive skills. Every session includes both sport specific preparation and general physical preparation.
